Activity Schedule For January

January in Minnesota often seems to drag on. The holidays are over, the weather is cold, and families are already longing for spring. Below is a list of activities that you can do right here in Saint Paul to keep you active during the long winter month of January:

Sledding is a wonderful way to get out and enjoy the weather, and also burn off some of those extra calories from November and December! Here is a link to sledding hills in the area www.stpaul.gov/DocumentView.asp?DID=3254

The St. Paul Winter Skate is still open in Downtown by Landmark Plaza. Be sure to check it out! If you bring your own skates it’s free, or you can rent them for $2. Even if you’re not a skater, wander down there and sit by the hearth. The people watching is great! www.capitalcitypartnership.com/promote/winterSkate.html

Of course, the highlight for many St. Paul-ites is the Winter Carnival! There are way too many activities to list here, but you can check out their website for a schedule of events. My favorite is the ice sculpture display in Rice Park.     www.winter-carnival.com/
